Grounding after birth trauma

A structured 16-week programme to help you rebuild physical strength, restore trust in your body, and begin to process what you’ve been through.

What happened to you matters. So does what comes next.

A traumatic birth can leave you feeling disconnected from your body, struggling to make sense of what happened, and uncertain about how to move forward. For many women, formal support ends at the six-week check. What you’re carrying after that is yours to navigate alone.

Grounding was built for this moment. A 16-week, expert-led programme that brings together trauma-informed Pilates and practical emotional support tools, designed specifically for women who are healing after a traumatic birth. Because rebuilding trust in your body and processing what you’ve been through are not separate journeys. They’re the same.

This isn’t a generic postnatal fitness programme. Every session, every tool, and every piece of guidance has been built with a clear understanding of how birth trauma lives in the body, and what it takes to genuinely begin to heal.

Inside Grounding, you’ll find:

Trauma-informed Pilates, delivered in fortnightly chapters

Support for your body and mind

What happened to your body doesn’t stay separate from what happens to your heart. Grounding holds both, with movement that helps you feel safe in your body again and emotional tools to help you navigate the moments that are harder to name.

Tailored to your experience

Grounding is not a generic wellness or postnatal programme. Every element has been built with a trauma-informed approach that honours what you’ve been through, and what recovery from it actually requires.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Grounding is for any woman who is carrying the weight of their birth experience and is looking for practical, expert support to heal, physically and emotionally. Whether you've recently given birth or you are still holding onto the experience after several years then Grounding is for you.

  • Grounding gives you access to expert-led trauma-informed Pilates sessions, an emotional support toolkit with breathwork and guided practices, specialist guidance on grief, pelvic floor recovery, hormones, sleep and relationships, and practical lifestyle support. New content unlocks fortnightly across the 16 weeks.

  • Everyone will feel ready at a different time, and it will depend on your unique experience. We'd always recommend consulting your doctor or healthcare professional before starting any new exercise after a recent or medically complicated birth.

Please review our health information page before commencing your Grounding programme.

  • That’s completely fine. The emotional support tools, breathwork, and expert guidance are all available independently of the movement content. Come to the movement when you’re ready. There is no right order.

  • No. Everything in Grounding is on demand. There is no schedule to keep and no pressure to show up on a particular day. Work through it at the pace that suits you.

  • Sixteen weeks gives you enough time to move through the programme at a gentle, sustainable pace, build real physical strength, and develop a toolkit of emotional support practices you can carry forward.

We don't believe 16 weeks will fix everything. Grief and trauma don't work to a schedule, and we would never suggest otherwise. What Grounding is designed to do is get you back on your feet — physically stronger, more connected to your body, and better equipped for the days that are still hard.

If at the end of the programme you are still struggling significantly, emotionally or physically, the most important thing you can do is seek one-to-one support from a specialist. Grounding can be a meaningful part of your recovery, but it is not a substitute for individual clinical care, and we will always encourage you to access that if you need it.

  • For the early weeks you wont need any equipment, although you may find it comfortable to exercise on a Pilates mat.

As the exercise progresses it would be helpful to have a yoga block and resistance band.

  • Grounding is available as a one-off payment for the full programme, or on a monthly basis. Please see our pricing section of the grounding page for full details.

If you pay upfront, you have full access to all programme content for 12 months from purchase. If you choose monthly, your access continues for as long as your subscription remains active.

We're currently offering a limited number of founding member places at a reduced price. Full pricing is shown at sign-up.

If Grounding could help you but the cost is currently a barrier, please get in touch. We try to make support accessible wherever we can.

  • Founding members are the name we give to the first group of women to sign up for our programmes.

As a founding member you will receive a special discounted rate on monthly subscription or one-time purchase.

Founding members will also receive occasional requests for feedback on your experience with Intara which we will use to improve our offering. There is no obligation to provide any feedback.

  • Yes, you can cancel at any time by logging into your account. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period and no further payments will be taken. We don't offer refunds for the current billing period already paid.

  • As a digital product, the full programme payment is non-refundable once you have accessed the content. However, if you haven't yet logged in or accessed any content, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to request a full refund under your statutory cooling-off rights. To request a refund within this period, email us at connect@intaraspace.com.
